How can we fight climate change by using what we have for a practical solution?

The Background

We face an unavoidable climate issue that no one can be excluded from.

According to NASA - Global Climate Change, much scientific evidence indicates that climate change is occurring, such as warming the ocean, shrinking Ice sheets, and glacial retreat. Human activities are the primary driver of those changes.

The Challenge

It’s hard to make a huge impact only as individuals.

Climate change is a tremendously known issue that everyone often feels overwhelmed and unempowered by.

The Opportunity

Companies are a powerful force in making changes.

Many corporations are starting to put their efforts and investments into tackling climate issues and are willing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to take part in society's responsibility.

The Solution

Eco scorecard allows consumers to rethink their purchase behavior and makes companies reduce harm to the environment.

The extension reveals the eco scorecard of the company analyzed by Climate Neutral and displays it on Google’s universal platform. This gives Individuals one more consideration to support eco-friendly firms and inspires companies to do better.

Google Partnership with Climate Neutral

Start from what we are familiar with in our daily lives, making people easily involved.

The Google search engine takes a massive part of the network market. Partnership with Climate Neutral can effectively expose the eco fact of brands and bring more people to know Climate Neural. At the same time, as the first initiative company to be so supportive of fighting climate change, Google can raise its brand image even more.

A Simple And Intuitive Icon

Using trash cans as a sign of an eco scorecard intuitively leads users to think it is relevant to waste.

The trash can explosion on the far right side shows that the company produces so much garbage, whereas the company doing an excellent job of reducing GHG emissions gets the far left trash can with the one green bar.

Google Search Engine

Offer alternatives to motivate the potential customer to be a part of environmental support.

Showing the eco scorecard of the company at the top of the company's information section allows users directly see the score. Moreover, displaying the alternatives around you provides options for you to support more environmentally friendly companies.

Finally, clicking "see more" to see the criteria and FAQ brings the facts to the table and educates people about the issue.

Google Map

Get broader target users by partnering with Google Maps on IOS and Android.

When a consumer searches a store on Google Maps, the store's scorecard shows up and recommends more eco-friendly stores to consider. After clicking on one store, you can see the details of each store's eco-score and the information.

Branding

Everyone can be involved in supporting the right company to fight climate change, and it's that simple.

Inform people to notice that Google now has a new strategy for facing the climate crisis, and tell people even a small choice in choosing a store matters.
